.) Watching a sad movie or episode is cathartic! If you are anything like me, you despise crying about your problems, especially in front of others. However, never letting any of these natural emotions out can lead to an unhealthy buildup that could burst at a very inopportune moment. It is actually healthy to release these unwanted tears…. So watching a tearjerker is actually the perfect way to maintain poise in your personal life by crying without any of the real pain!
.) Asking people’s opinions on shows provides you with immediate and deep character analysis. If a potential new friend agrees that Chuck Bass is the perfect boyfriend, then that is a clear sign of future fun together. However, if a potential love interest thinks Ross was right about being on a break with Rachel…. You should probably terminate the relationship immediately.
.) It takes about 45 minutes to “decompress” after work/school, which just so happens to be the length of one Grey’s Anatomy episode! Go ahead, decompress, you’ve had a rough day and you deserve it! Besides, you’ll function better after you’ve relaxed anyways.
.)Â If you are naturally a bit shy, joining in on the passionate conversations that occur 10 minutes before class starts about the latest Orange Is The New Black episode is a great way to forge social connections with people you would otherwise sit next to silently. And the only way to talk about these new and exciting shows is by having watched them!
.)Â Not sure how to initiate a hangout session? Or worse, how to make a planned hangout not revolve around awkward shallow conversation? Suggest watching a new Netflix movie! Or, if you are looking to hangout again soon, then opt for a tv show, which will force the two of you to watch every future episode together! (This is not conniving, this is just smooth)
I have just justified at least one applicable reason for you to watch Netflix right now, whether it is the case that you need a good cry or a good line…. You’re welcome.
