5 Podcasts That Will Inspire You to Be Kind

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Carleton chapter.

Podcasts are a great way to learn something new, entertain yourself, or even show off your own creativity! Sometimes we can get wrapped up in our own lives and it’s nice to take a break and listen to other people’s stories.

With the winter blues upon us, it’s important to stay kind to yourself and others, and you can learn just how to do so with podcasts. The following podcasts are all about kindness and I hope that after listening to a couple of episodes, you’ll be inspired to be extra kind to others and yourself!

 1. The Kindness Project

This podcast is great to hear stories of kindness and learn how kindness can make positive change in our world. This father and daughter duo makes the show extra listenable with their amazing British accents and it goes into small acts of kindness that you may not think would make a difference in people’s lives.

2. Body Kindness

The Body Kindness podcast is amazing for learning how to be kind to your body. From burn-out to having fat to diabetes, this podcast covers a wide range of ways to be extra kind to your body. For example, instead of dieting, the hosts give you new ways to be kinder to your body including having more fun, practicing more self-care, getting better sleep, and moving in a way that doesn’t punish your body.

3. The Happiness Lab with Dr. Laurie Santos

Dr. Laurie Santos has studied the science behind happiness, and through scientific research and inspiring stories, this podcast will change the way you think about happiness! The podcast discredits the social media whirlwind of money and vacations and instead shows you how basic kindness and being with others can actually make you happier.

4. The Mindful Kind

This podcast is all about mindfulness and reflection. It shares insights into mindful journeys and gives you many simple practices to incorporate into your own life. Through reflecting on your own experiences and undergoing mindfulness exercises, you’ll definitely learn more about being kind to yourself and how to manage stress!

5. Kind World

The Kind World podcast is all about how single acts of kindness can change others’ lives and your own. Each episode tells good news stories that will inspire you to quickly and easily be kind to others. This podcast will definitely give you faith in others again!

Even if you’re not a regular podcast listener, I’d recommend you listen to at least one episode from each of these podcasts because it will definitely inspire you to be more kind to yourself and those around you.
