Sometimes studying can feel like a chore. But what if I told you that studying doesn’t have to always feel boring and stressful? Over time, I have learned how to romanticize studying. This meant turning simple moments like reading notes, writing assignments, and preparing for midterms into magical moments. Here’s a peek into my world of soft routines, pink pens, Sunday baths, and a style that makes school feel so me.
STARTING THE DAY
Finding time for yourself in the morning can be quite challenging. Especially when juggling between responsibilities like making breakfast, packing for lunch, getting ready for school or work, or helping children get ready for their day.
That’s why I like to have 10 minutes to myself each morning to practice yoga. It helps me set my intentions for the day and stretch stiff muscles, boost my focus, keep me energized, and bring a sense of peace throughout the day.
CREATING MY OWN STUDY STYLE
My next step to romanticizing studying is through soft pink tones and music. Soft pink is a colour often associated with compassion and self-love, which is exactly what I want to bring into my study routine.
Music is another key element which I try to bring into my study style. I like to use it as my background noise to keep me focused and grounded. Together, these create a gentle atmosphere that makes studying feel less like a task and more like a fun adventure.
MY PERSONAL STYLE: DRESSING FOR THE LIFE I WANT
Romanticizing for school does not just stop at my desk, but rather it starts with how I present myself. School is a way for me to show up as the most polished, grounded and romantic version of myself. For me, school isn’t just about academics but a space where I get to express myself creatively and emotionally through style. I can create a different style for each day of the week.
On Monday, I can have a feminine style, on Tuesday a more romantic style and on Wednesday a more retro style. Each day becomes its own little story, told through fabric, colour, and mood. For me, fashion brings magic in romanticizing day-to-day tasks. It reminds me that I don’t need a special occasion to feel like the main character of my life. The goal of dressing up is to align with the version I aspire to be.
SUNDAY RESET
Lastly, one of my favourite things to do to reset every week is my Sunday bath ritual. It’s a time when I unwind and mentally prepare myself for the week ahead. I like to start my Sunday bath with warm water, sprinkle rose petals, light a few candles and play relaxing music. This makes a huge difference in making me feel refreshed, grounded and ready to start the week with calm energy.
Overall, romanticizing studying has completely changed my daily routine. By turning my routine into a magical one, I have created an atmosphere which helps me stay consistent and motivated. It makes me excited to start my day and look forward to experiencing those little magical moments.
