My name is Lynn and I will be returning as Senior Editor at Her Campus Carleton for the second consecutive year. My background as a journalism student has equipped me with valuable skills including editing, fact-checking, research skills, proofreading and AP style-guide knowledge.
As well, I have developed a great passion towards editing and feel that HCC is the perfect place to allow me to both sharpen my skills while having some creative liberty in the direction of editorial content. I am looking forward to a really exciting and dynamic year, with a diverse lineup of articles from our talented contributing writers.
One project that I am particularly thrilled with putting into motion this year, — without giving too much away — is something that I think that our readers will not only enjoy but be able to connect much better with. Let’s just say —it is something you’ll certainly want to get your hands on!
HCC has been a big part of my university life for what will be the third year now, and I am really honoured that I will be part of it as I head into my final year. I hope that what we will be able to achieve will help leave behind a good example for the future incredible teams of HCC execs.
Beyond HCC, I am an international student from Singapore and I have now been living in Ottawa for three years. I enjoy reading and singing, and I am ALSO an avid tea drinker. I have a whole compartment in my room dedicated to my favourite teas, both from here and from Singapore. So if you’re ever in need of good tea, I may know a thing or two.
I am so happy to be working with such a wonderful group of associate editors this year, and we are eager to start reading, editing and publishing your beautiful stories! Feel free to send your pitches directly to my email at senioreditor.hccarleton@gmail.com.
