We are so back!!
My name is Gabriella, and I am your 26/27 president. This will be my third and last year as President of Her Campus Carleton. I started as a writer in my first year and have been acting as President ever since my second year. As President, I run the administrative side of the team, but I also proofread and fact-check all articles before they are published. My job is to ensure our editors, content creators, and other members of the executive team have everything they need to succeed.
Why do I keep coming back? Because I love this club! As a journalism student, I was drawn to Her Campus Carleton because it allowed me to practice writing and see my name published. But I kept coming back because of how much fun I have year after year leading this team.
When I first started my degree at Carleton University, I never imagined that I would be leading the best club on campus for three straight years (let’s just pretend I’m not biased and HCC truly is the best club on campus). I am in my fourth year of my Honours Degree in Journalism and in Law. I have always gravitated more towards law, but studying for the LSATs this summer made me yearn to be back in school writing fun articles for HCC, attending tote-bag painting events and listening to HerCast.
It is so amazing what we as women can come together and create a community of like minded writers exploring ideas of femininity, girlhood, culture and more.

When I’m not hosting meetings or reviewing articles, I like to bake intricate cakes for my friends and family’s special occasions (I once even baked a wedding cake). I’m a huge gym rat — my party trick is busting out fifteen pull-ups on any random bar I can find. I also have a passion for singing, the colour, pink, makeup, animals and Hello Kitty!
