If you are anything like me, chances are you love Emma Chamberlain. She is definitely one of my top comfort YouTubers. Every single video she posts seems so relatable, personal and almost feels like I’m on a FaceTime call with a close friend. Recently, I have become more interested in podcasts and when I found out Emma Chamberlain made one, I had to listen.
Her podcast is called “Anything Goes,” which is a very fitting name as she talks about a wide variety of topics whether it be mental health, advice, her love for fashion or even just simple stories from her everyday life. After hearing it for the first time I already knew this would become one of my favourite things to listen to as I drive or do my makeup.Â
I’ve been a fan of Emma since 2017 when she first began to blow up in the world of social media. Something I have always admired about her is how real she is with her audience. Not only is she extremely open, but she and I are the same age and being able to watch an influencer go through similar things during the same stages of life is extremely validating and comforting.
This idea of relatability and realness really shines on “Anything Goes.” Each time I listen, it reminds me that nobody is alone in how they feel and so many people are going through the same things. Not only is she able to express how we are all feeling, but she genuinely listens to her fans by giving them the chance to submit questions. She answers these in her “advice sessions” episodes, where she gives listeners the advice they need to hear and shares her own experiences to relate to different situations.
“Anything Goes” is definitely one of my favourite podcasts I’ve discovered this year. Not only is it extremely enjoyable to listen to, but it feels like getting a warm hug from a long-time best friend.Â
