  1. Would you rather be famous for a day or have enough money for the rest of the week? Definitely fortune for the rest of the week. Not stressing about money for once or having enough to take my friends away with me for a few days would be awesome.

     2. Biggest pet peeve?        People who refuse to try something new or step out of their comfort zone!

  1. Three best qualities about you and why.

I love doing things that scare or challenge me. I also have a very hard time saying no, which I’ve been told is a major fault of mine but I think it is what has led me to some of my favourite memories, some very    embarrassing but mostly hilarious and amazing. And if I can make someone laugh, I’m happy!

  1. Favourite place in Ottawa and why? The canal will always be my favourite to walk, run, bike or skate along, either by myself or with friends, at any time, any season. It’s just awesome.
  1. Why did you join a sorority/how has it changed you?I joined because there was a girl I worked with who told me to. That is initially why. I had no idea what a sorority was at first but I just loved how fun this one girl was to work with and talk to so I thought “why not?” When I started going to the recruitment events, I got to know more girls in the sorority and realized how ambitious, independent and fun all of these girls were, and they were only a year or two older than me. They were in university pursuing degrees, had busy jobs, lived on their own, volunteered constantly, played sports, and continued to be grounded, good people. I knew right away I wanted to surround myself with girls like that. How has it changed me? I don’t know where to even start but all I can say is that joining was by far the best decision I made in first year!
  1. Strange quirks about you that most people don’t know? I’m pretty open about my quirks but I guess not everyone knows my love of imitating people and accents, or that I sing every waking hour.
  1. What do you think is the best quality a girl can have? A sense of humour! Doesn’t matter what kind of humour, just as long as she is having fun and not worrying about what others are thinking about her.
  1. What are your goals for the next couple of months? I’ll be leaving Ottawa soon so my goal is to stay in touch with the amazing people I’ve met here, move back to BC for work, knock off a few places on my travel list and train for a marathon.
  1. Anything you got out of your undegrad experience that you didn’t expect? Family. I don’t have my family here in Ottawa but a support system is the most important thing to make it through your undergrad away from home and I was fortunate enough to know the most amazing and generous people who took me in as family and made friends who have been sisters to me.
  1. Any advice for the first years?Try everything Carleton has to offer. There are SO many organizations, clubs, and groups to join and everyone wants you involved so let university be the time to get out of your comfort zone. Start fresh because this is different than highschool, this is the time to keep up with hobbies you love or go for something new but always wanted to try. Learn about new things and create a support system with people who encourage and inspire you.
