So why did you want to be a Campus Cutie?
I guess I’m shy and not very outgoing, so I thought it would be a way to get myself out there.

What are some things people should know about you?
I’m a pretty easy-going, laid-back guy, athletic. I like the outdoors. I play on the lacrosse team here. I like to cook. I like to read as well, mostly thrillers and suspense, anything that’s not a textbook.

Best memory from Carleton?
Just the lacrosse season, I’d definitely have to say. It’s just a good time with friends. We went to the final tournament last year. It’s called the Baggataway Cup so we made it there. Unfortunately, we lost our game, but we got to party after.

What do you look for in a significant other?
She has to have a sense of humour. If she can’t laugh at herself… well, she’s got to be able to. She doesn’t have to be athletic. I play all kinds of sports, so she has to be willing to at least try; to be good, it doesn’t matter. Probably petite would be my body type since I’m not very big, I’m only 5’8″.

Do you have any pet peeves?
When a girl’s on her phone the entire time. Like, I want to hang out with you. You don’t need to be checking your Twitter every five minutes and need to like that photo of your friend’s sushi right away. You can probably wait a little bit.

How do you think communication between couples has changed with the Facebook/texting era?
It’s definitely become less personal I’d say, because you can have a texting relationship and not see them in person. That’s the best part of a relationship, face to face contact and intimacy between two people.

What’s something you don’t understand about women?
The incessant need to gossip 24/7 between girls. I find that girls are really judgemental. You only know her first name and you’ve seen her profile picture and you already hate her.

What’s the cutest you’ve ever done for a girl?
When I was asking my date to prom, I baked her a cake and wrote “prom” in icing on it.

Describe your best date?
Me and my girlfriend in highschool, we took a trip to Nova Scotia to her cottage, and we decided to spend the whole day outside since she lived near the beach. We walked up and down the beach, and went down the shoreline, went kayaking. It was right by the ocean and it was a really nice day.

Any general comments on the Carleton dating scene?
I think if everyone were a little more outgoing, it’d be better. You have a class and no one will talk to each other. If it’s a big classroom, you sometimes ignore the person sitting beside you. That’s gotten a bit better now that we’re later on in our years. Like first year, you’re in a class of 400 and some people will be like, “hey what’s up?” and some people will just sit there and keep to themselves.

Any last words for the Carleton ladies?
@Daggs on Twitter and #31 on the lacrosse team.
