5 of the Best Cocktail Bars in Cardiff

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cardiff chapter.

Exams are over and life is finally back to normal, so if you’re looking to celebrate Sex and the City style, here are some of the best cocktail bars Cardiff has to offer.

Buffalo Bar, Windsor Place

After recently undergoing a revamp, Buffalo Bar teams stylish modern décor with a trendy vintage twist. The cocktails here are to die for – the menu is brimming with classics as well as an eclectic mix of new concoctions from Buffalo’s trained cocktail waiters. Perfect for a first date or a night out with the girls.

Milgi, City Road

Hidden away among City Road’s kebab houses and takeaways is Milgi: a café in the day and a restaurant come cocktail bar at night. Milgi boasts a clean vegan menu but don’t let that fool you; each cocktail comes with a serious kick. Be sure to check out the garden in the summer months with its amazing tepee, which complements Milgi’s happy hippy vibe.

Ten Feet Tall, City Centre

Ten Feet Tall is the place to be for a few drinks before a night out. Situated firmly in the centre of town, it is surrounded by typical student haunts Glam and Tiger Tiger. Check their website for times on their daily 2 for 1 cocktail deals, which is often extended from 10pm to 11pm with a valid student card.

Gassy Jacks, Salisbury Road

Boasting some of the best live music in Cardiff, Gassy Jacks is situated in the heart of Cathays. You’ll definitely be spoilt for choice with an extensive menu of cocktails, which are served in a cool mix of jam jars and martini glasses. Make the most of Friday’s all day 2 for 1 offer.

Kama Lounge, Woodville Road

More commonly recognised as a noodle bar, but Kama Lounge’s cocktail menu is full to the brim with unique and tasty mixtures. Kama’s bar staff are the friendliest around and the cocktails are some of the cheapest in Cardiff; a buy one get one free offer every Saturday evening for glasses that are just £3.75 each is perfect if your student loan is already dwindling.
