Top Five Dating Spots Around Campbell University

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Campbell chapter.

As exciting as life in Buies Creek is, some say it’s hard to find that special place to take that special someone.  Well, I’m here to put an end to those nasty rumors and fill you in on the most happening places to take your sweetie pie.  Whether you are going on your very first date or you have been together for years, these hot spots are sure to keep things both new and exciting.

Sunni Skies – Everyone loves a good ice cream treat now and then, so spoil your date and splurge for two scoops!  Not a soul around campus hasn’t heard of Sunni Skies, so you’re bound to run into someone you know.  This can be a great ice breaker for those in a first date funk.  By bringing another person into the mix conversation is bound to pick up! At the very least, you can talk about how famous the place is! When things start to go smoothly, you can offer to share a bite of your favorite flavor.  If you and your honey are practically an old married couple, how nice is it to reminisce on those dates from long ago and your very first trip to Sunni Skies? This is best date destination around.

Buffaloe Lanes – Dinner and a movie has been done over and over again, how are you supposed to find out if you’re interested in someone if you sit in silence for two hours?  Try getting a little competitive spirit going and head to the bowling alley for Starlight Bowling! The atmosphere is fun, energetic, and even, yes, a little romantic.  Let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want their crush coming up behind them, taking their hand, and showing them the perfect way to glide the ball down the lane?  Can you imagine the excitement when that throw is a strike? This place is a sure fire way to hit it off.  If you’re already in that committed relationship, you can make the game a friendly wager on who has to buy the next round of food!

Raven Rock – Not being much for hiking myself, Raven Rock is a great place to spend an afternoon.  It’s got something for everyone. If you’re into hiking up hills and checking out beautiful scenery, this place has the trails for you!  However, if you’re clumsy and just might fall on your face hiking up giant rocks, there is plenty of space to sit and have a picnic, toss around a football, play some corn hole, or just lie out and soak up the sunshine.

Wal-Mart – Now don’t laugh, this is for real.  Going on first dates can be tough! No one knows what to say or how to bring up conversation topics. Heading to Wal-mart is the perfect solution. By walking around the aisles, it is easy to talk about the things that you like and don’t like.  You can stroll on over to the books and talk about your favorite authors, skip to the movies and share how much you love that new romantic comedy, and mosey up to the music and chat about your favorite genre.  It’s the perfect way to get to know each other without those awkward silences.  And if you’re already in love, Wal-mart is the perfect place to go and look for new foods to try, a new game to play, or a new flick to watch.  Sometimes, it’s just nice to get off campus for a while!

Keith Hills – So far, these date destinations have been fun, exciting, and delicious.  But if you’re looking for something truly romantic to do with your boo, head on out to Keith Hills when the moon is high in the sky and the stars are shining bright.  Lay down a blanket and snuggle up! Spend the evening in pure amazement over God’s glorious creation and the beautiful moment that you’re in.  It is a sweet way to enjoy one another’s company and take a step back from all the stresses of college.

There you have it, collegiettes™, Buies Creek is loaded with great places to venture out on a date or two.  So grab that unique individual you’ve been dying to ask out and plan the perfect evening!
