The Oscars is one of the best award shows for many reasons but let’s be honest, a lot of us watch it for the fashion. It’s nothing short of inspiring and for us fashion lovers it’s like a religious experience. This year the red carpet looks took me to church.
Dev Patel + his mom
Dev looks absolutely amazing in his Burberry suit. I absolutely lovee the white jacket, I think it gives him an old school look that works so well. I’m also still swooning over the fact that he brought his mom to the Oscars. I’m not crying, you are.
But really, I think his mom, Anita, stole the show. She is so stunning in that sari, my heart can’t handle it. She’s beaming with pride and it’s so beautiful.
Chrissy Teigen
Chrissy, an angel on and off twitter, looked like one in her Zuhair Murad gown. Like, take a look at her. That dress defines her figure so nicely and those sleeves are an absolute dream. I can’t even find anything else to say other than: oh my god this is amazing!
Octavia Spencer
Octavia wowed us all in her Marchesa dress and Forevermark diamonds. That color and shape on her is just insanely gorgeous, it makes her look radiant. The feathers too are so beautiful, I want to borrow this dress and then never take it off. I’m obsessed.
Viola Davis
Viola Davis, my queen, absolutely slayed the red carpet in a gorgeous red Armani Privé dress. I’m in love with that color on her, she should wear red always and forever. Her acceptance speech was so beautiful, I am just so happy for her because she absolutely deserved the win.
Emma Stone
Um, this 1920’s esque Givenchy haute couture dress has me feeling some type of way. The detailing on the bodice and the flapper-like beading on the bottom… yes please. It was everything and more for me, I couldn’t get enough of it.
Taraji P. Henson
Lets just talk about how her dress looks like it’s black but then upon closer inspection it is a gorgeous dark blue Alberta Ferretti paired with Nirav Modi jewelry. I love the cut of the dress on her, it flatters her to no end. She is just a gorgeous human being and it’s honestly just kind of unfair.
Janelle Monae
UGH. I cannot get over Janelle Monae looking like a literal princess gracing us with her presence, wearing Elie Saab, Forevermark jewelry and a Jennifer Behr crown headband. I have nothing to say because I’m still sitting my with jaw dropped over this ensemble.
Hailee Steinfeld
She looks insanely amazing in her Ralph & Russo dress. She looks like an embodiment of Spring and she has me itching to wear florals and pastels.
Mahershala Ali
Wow wow wow. There is something about this black on black ensemble from Ermenegildo Zegna Couture that says sophistication. He is divine in this outfit and I keep thinking about how nice that Oscar would compliment it.
