Behind every great author is a great editor, and that’s just what Joshua S. Proud is!
Joshua is a contributing writer of the Cal Times, an English major concentrating in journalism, and our senior editor and also a contributing writer for our Cal U Her Campus chapter!
Josh is from Baldwin, a borough just outside of Pittsburgh. He is the middle child in a family of five, with an older brother who graduated from CalU last fall, and a younger sister who is attending college in Pittsburgh. As of next semester, he will be a junior and is impatiently awaiting his graduation day. Josh spends much of his time outside of class working on homework assignments, studying for his classes, and writing articles. He is dedicated to his studies and takes pride in the grades that he receives.
Josh openly identifies himself with the feminist movement, he believes that equality among the sexes is important. He is not afraid to speak up when something is unjust. Josh enjoys frequent naps and cuddling with his two cats, Sampson and Spooky. He enjoys frequently cleaning his apartment and he loves to light candles, turn on his multiple wax warmers or spray his apartment because aromatherapy helps him calm his anxieties.
Josh loves being a part of Her Campus, when he was asked why he said “The people and the writing of course.”
He went on to say, I love making new friends and since I’m a journalism major it’s fun to write more entertainment topics and opinion pieces. I may want to be a reporter but I also love to write all kinds of genres”
