Describe yourself in three words: a caring, outgoing, and foodlover.
What does your daily routine look like?
It depends on the day but I either go to school or work. After I’ll go home to eat & spend some time with my family. I like to go out and find new places to eat, shop, hang out, see views, etc. For the most part I just like to be outside and try new things.
Are you involved on campus?
A bit. I have recently joined the Jumpstart program and I am going to start attending meetings for the MECHA organization on campus.
Name one crazy life experience that happened recently.
It was not really a crazy experience but I was in Mexico when Hurricane Patricia hit and even though I only experienced rain and some wind it was still scary to hear all the predictions that were being made. Also, I had not seen my family from Mexico in 7 years so it was a great to see all of them again.
What is your favorite place in L.A.?
This spot by the 6th street bridge in Boyle Heights. There is a great view of DTLA.
Who is your role model?
My parents. Both my mom and dad came from Mexico without any money and they have worked so hard to give my siblings and I a better life. They are humble, caring, honest, hard working people and I couldn’t be prouder to have them as parents.
What is your favorite food?
TACOS!!! with a side of beans and rice……. And a horchata.
Describe your dream date.
My dream date would consist of going to Da Poetry Lounge, as I have not been there but I have been wanting to go for like ever. After probably go eat at a taco stand. Maybe walk around and see some street art.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself being an English high school teacher at LAUSD and having my own place somewhere in LA. Probably spending a summer in Spain or London.
What’s your favorite thing about Cal State LA?
I’ve met some pretty awesome people here. Plus the school always has many events that bring attention to cultural and social issues that affect many of us attending Cal State LA.
If you had to listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That is so hard because I love so many songs that’s it’s almost impossible to pick just one. But if I had to pick I would have to say Dirty Girl by FELT Or any song from Sublime.
