Formed from all four members of the band Franz Ferdinand, and the duo band Sparks, comes the aptly named new supergroup, FFS- Franz Ferdinand and Sparks. On Wednesday night, October 14, Alex Kapranos, Bob Hardy, Nick McCarthy, Paul Thompson, Ron Mael, and Russel Mael performed their penultimate show of their North American Tour in front of a packed and energetic crowd at local venue The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA.
The eighteen song setlist consisted of all twelve tracks from the self titled album FFS, and six cover songs. The cohesive vocals and stage presence provided for a great performance that showcased the sound of not merely two bands playing at once but the sound of one great band. The tongue in cheek titled song, “Collaborations Don’t Work,” capped off the show.
