Love is in the air! With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, you may be looking for some last-minute plans. Well don’t worry, I got you! Whether you’ll be spending Valentine’s Day with your boo, with your bestie, or celebrating with yourself this year, snuggling up for a rom-com is one of the best and most fun ways to celebrate! If you aren’t sure which of the many rom-coms are worth the watch, I’ve compiled a list of my top ten favorites. Get cozy and grab some of your favorite heart-shaped snacks and hopefully one of these movies will be your new favorite!

10.) Palm Springs, starring Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti, is a fun movie about two wedding guests who get stuck in an eternal time loop living the same day over and over again. This movie is just so fun and silly, and is the perfect balance between “rom” and “com.” Both Samberg and Milioti give this movie their all and their chemistry is undeniable. This movie is guaranteed to make you laugh and is such an easy one to just turn on and enjoy.

Where to watch: Hulu

Running Time: 1 hour 30 minutes

9.) Crazy, Stupid, Love is a star-studded movie, with actors such as Steve Carrell, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Julianne Moore, and many more. This movie follows three separate “love” stories that all somehow intertwine, with a plot twist at the end that you most likely won’t see coming. It’s a touching story with many hilarious moments that’ll leave you wanting to watch it again (if not for the plot, then definitely for Ryan Gosling!).

Where to watch: Hulu or Apple TV

Running Time: 1 hour and 47 minutes

8.) Clueless is a classic rom-com that I feel everyone should see at least once, at least for young Paul Rudd (one of my top celebrity crushes). With so many iconic moments, Clueless is one of those feel-good movies that will have you laughing and saying “awww” within seconds of each other. Plus, who doesn’t want Cher’s wardrobe?

Where to watch: Prime Video or Paramount Plus

Running Time: 1 hour and 37 minutes

7.) Plus One is such an underrated rom-com! Starring Jack Quaid and Maya Erskine (yes, Maya from Pen15 and Marvel from The Hunger Games), this movie is about two friends who agree to always be each others’ plus one during wedding season and to help the other find someone to hook up with. I watched this movie on a whim but I’m so glad I did because it’s easily one of the best romcoms I’ve ever seen. It’s funny, witty, adorable, and so much more.

Where to watch: Netflix

Running Time: 1 hour 39 minutes

6.) Valentine’s Day is another star-studded movie and – oh my gosh – it’s so good. With Anne Hathaway, Bradley Cooper, Emma Roberts, Taylor Lautner, and even Taylor Swift (plus so SO many more), it follows so many different types of love stories (romantic, family, friendships, etc.) that it has something for everyone. It’s so silly and unserious, it’s a great movie if you just want something funny to watch this Valentine’s Day.

Where to watch: Hulu or Prime Video

Running Time: 2 hours 5 minutes

5.) Always Be My Maybe is a Netflix original movie that is also extremely underrated. Starring Ali Wong and Randall Park, plus a surprise guest that you’ll have to watch to find out. It’s about two childhood best friends who have a falling out and reconnect many years later. This is one of those movies I could watch a million times and never get bored. It’s so sweet and silly that it’ll easily become one of your favorites.

Where to watch: Netflix

Running Time: 1 hour 41 minutes

4.) The Wedding Singer has to be my favorite Adam Sandler rom-com. I know he has so many good ones, but this one just holds a special place in my heart. When Robbie (Adam Sandler), a locally famous wedding singer, falls in love with engaged waitress Julia (Drew Barrymore), he must win her over before she gets married. With hilarious moments such as the amazing song “Somebody Kill Me” (which we have all felt at one point or another) and the undeniable chemistry between Barrymore and Sandler, this movie is just an absolute winner in my heart.

Where to watch: Hulu and Prime Video

Running time: 1 hour and 35 minutes

3.) With having When Harry Met Sally in my top three, it’s getting pretty serious. I think this is one of the most perfectly crafted romcoms of all time. Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan have that chemistry that’s just pretty much unbeatable and shows that that right person will always come back to you. If you haven’t ever watched this movie, I highly recommend you check it out. I won’t give too much away because this is one of those films you really should go in blind for, but in my opinion, it’s a must-watch for Valentine’s Day.

Where to watch: Max

Run Time: 1 hour and 36 minutes

2.) 10 Things I Hate About You just barely squeaks into second place, with the movie in first place just barely beating it out. This movie is the epitome of a feel-good 90s romcom, with all the laughs, tenderness, and romantic moments you could need jam-packed into 90 minutes of rom-com perfection. With icons such as Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and many more, this is one of the rom-coms to end all rom-coms.

Where to Watch: Hulu and Disney Plus

Run Time: 1 hour and 37 minutes

Now, don’t worry if I haven’t mentioned your favorite, because I do have some honorable mentions. As a self-proclaimed rom-com connoisseur, here are some of my other favorites that just didn’t quite make the list: Notting Hill, No Hard Feelings, Leap Year, This is 40, While You Were Sleeping, 27 Dresses, Crazy Rich Asians, Bros, When We First Met, The Hating Game, and Love, Simon. These are all also great watches for Valentine’s Day but unfortunately weren’t able to make their way into my top ten. Now, my number one pick rom-com is…(drumroll please)…

1.) 13 Going on 30! This movie is not only my favorite rom-com of all time, but probably my favorite movie. My mom showed it to me when I was a little girl and it holds such a special place in my heart. Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo just have that perfect chemistry that has you on the edge of your seat the whole movie, waiting for them to get together. I’d give anything to watch this movie again for the first time, and if you haven’t seen it, you need to. It’s just absolutely everything the perfect rom-com should be, and it’s the absolute best for Valentine’s Day.

Did I list your favorite rom-com? I know there are so many other good ones out there that I’m sure I haven’t seen, but for now, this list remains my solid top ten. I wish you all a happy and safe Valentine’s Day, and hopefully, my list will bring you some new favorites this season!
