The Winter Spotify Playlist You Need

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Poly chapter.

Winter is a season filled with holiday cheer and freezing nights. Sometimes this means blasting your favorite upbeat banger with your best friends from home, and other times all you want is to cozy up under your duvet and listen to a soft songstress crooning in the background.

So we present you with the perfect winter playlist: it starts off with some songs to play at your holiday party to get everyone moving. As the music goes on, it gets progressively slower to accompany the end of the party. By the end, you’re left with easy listening, guitar-driven songs that’ll lull you into a winter dream-state.

Listen to CHVRCHES and an alt-J remix if you’re in the mood for an uptempo song to sing along with your friends. On the other hand, the Years & Years ballad “Eyes Shut” is perfect to turn on when you’re winding down from a day filled with holiday cheer. If you’re looking for a mix between the two, check out “Bravado” by Lorde or “Weight in Gold” by Gallant. No matter what you’re in the mood for, there’s something on this playlist for you.

1. “Left Hand Free – Lido Remix” — alt-J

2. “Roses” — The Chainsmokers, ROZES

3. “The Mother We Share” — CHVRCHES

4. “Bravado” — Lorde

5. “Coffee” — Sylvan Esso

6. “Hold “On, We’re Going Home” — Drake, Majid Jordan

7. “Bad Religion” — Frank Ocean

8. “Evergreen” — Broods

9. “Weight in Gold” — Gallant

10.” Eyes Shut” — Years & Years

11. “Infinity” — One Direction

12. “Winter Winds” — Mumford & Sons

13. “Michigan” — The Milk Carton Kids

14. “Take Me Home” — Jess Glynne

15. “Big Winter Jacket” — Cayucas

16. “Champagne Supernova” — Oasis

With these songs, you’re ready to take on the winter season and whatever it may bring. Happy listening!
