Cuddled up in a warm blanket, kicking back on the couch with a hot chocolate in one hand and the TV remote in the other is how I like to spend my holiday season. Whether it be with a group of your college friends or your older brother whom you grew up watching holiday specials with, these shows never fail to get you into the holiday spirit. Once you are full from your Friendsgiving dinner, gather everyone around the couch to watch these hilarious Thanksgiving episodes.
Ah, arguably the best, must-see Friends episode for the Brennifer fans. An old classmate of Ross, Monica, and Rachel’s comes around for Monica’s Thanksgiving dinner, but the truth comes out as we soon learn Will (Brad Pitt) was never a fan of Rachel. Meanwhile, Phoebe and Chandler pretend they enjoy watching football so they do not have to help Monica cook Thanksgiving dinner. Joey, in true fashion, is determined to finish an entire turkey himself. This episode is a great way to kick off your friendsgiving.
You are guaranteed a smile anytime you watch this show, but this episode specifically is laugh-out-loud hilarious. Claire leaves Phil and Luke in charge of making the Thanksgiving turkey for the family, a task she does not believe they can handle, while secretly cooking her own back-up turkey. Gloria and Jay plan a trip to Mexico that has an unexpected last-minute turn of events. After a few turkey mix ups, this episode is a must for Friendsgiving.
A classic Thanksgiving special you have probably channel surfed through at one point. This episode involves playing football, sharing stories and eating pumpkin pie -something every Thanksgiving should entail! Charlie Brown has a few unexpected guests join his Thanksgiving dinner, so with his little to none cooking skills, he needs to figure out a dish to make. Snoopy and Woodstock are good helpers to Charlie Brown yet there are some attendees who do not appreciate the food.
- Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (Watch live on NBC or CBS at 9am Thanksgiving day)
This live-broadcasted parade is a MUST for Thanksgiving day. The “Today” show anchors, Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie, host the parade annually for viewers at home. The parade features magnificent floats ranging from Spongebob soaring through the sky to sets built on wheels for your favorite singers to perform on. The Radio City Rockettes are my favorite part of the performance.
I hope you watch these episodes and enjoy a well-deserved laugh with a belly full of pumpkin pie!
