Quotes and Pictures to End Finals Week Frustration

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Poly chapter.

Finals. Anxiety, sleep deprivation, stress eating, breakdowns. Sometimes a test is not that bad, but in general when 11 weeks of information, or 16 weeks for all you semester system students, is suddenly being boiled down to one week, it’s easy to freak out. Nothing can relieve all the stress, but take a little break and read some short words of wisdom to help you get through it all. And the pictures? Just for fun.

“A good day is a good day, a bad day is a good story. At the end of the day, it’s all good.” – Glennon Melton

“A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor” – English Proverb

“Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do.” – Oprah Winfrey

“Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go, just remember how far you have come. Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome.” – Unknown

“And yet, now that years have passed, I recall it and wonder that it could distress me so much. It will be the same thing, too, with this trouble. Time will go by and I shall not mind about this either.” – Leo Tolstoy

“The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.” – Thomas Paine

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” – Winston Churchill

“It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.” – Philip Dick

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t — either way you’re right.” -Henry Ford

“But the struggles make you stronger and the changes make you wise. And happiness has its own way of taking its sweet time.” – Gary Allen

“Nothing that’s worthwhile is ever easy. Remember that.” – Nicholas Sparks

“It’s OK if you mess up. You should give yourself a break.” – Billy Joel

“If you can dream it you can do it” – Walt Disney

Ok that last one is cheesy and overused, but it’s a classic and Walt has a point. Dreaming to get one hundred percent on all your finals won’t necessarily get you those one hundred percents, but it will help you find the motivation to get to that point. Those dreams will help you define your goals and those goals will help get you through this rocky time. Finals stress is inevitable, but just remember to breathe. You may get a little beaten up along the way, but you will survive and get through it because you’ve done it before and you can and will do it again. You got this!
