Relationship status: Single
Hometown: North Yorkshire, England

HC: When did you come to California?
Mike: I moved to California when I was about 14 or 15 with my mother. She actually grew up here; she went to Cal Poly.
HC: Where were you born?
Mike: Most people have the common misconception that I’m English from birth, but actually I’m not. I’m American from birth both parents are American but I was just raised in England!
HC: Who’s your celebrity crush?
Mike: Kiera Knightley.
HC: What qualities do you look for in a girl?
Mike: Someone who is passionate. Someone who is bold in their decision making and knows what they want and is driven. She has to love life, because I love life. It also helps if she likes to have fun, and laugh at herself. I like someone who is really comfortable in her own skin.
HC: What are you involved with at Cal Poly?
Mike: I’m in Vines to Wine which is just and wine and vit club, but it’s really cool! Wine is definitely a huge passion of mine. It’s not about slapping the wine bag and chugging it for 20 seconds, I really look at it as an evolving art form.
HC: What’s your best memory at Cal Poly so far?
Mike: Getting into Cal Poly!
HC: What is your dream job?
Mike: I want to own a boutique winery someday. Also to become Poet Laureate of California, but that would be more of a hobby really.
HC: What made you want to come to Cal Poly?
Mike: There’s Cal Poly, which is like, the most wonderful place ever. San Luis Obispo is gorgeous, what else could you possibly ask for?
HC: What would you call your accent?
Mike: It’s definitely English with American accents.
HC: Give it to us straight, American girls vs. English girls?
Mike: American girls are just more healthy, and literally fit and therefor that aspect of it, I love that! I really enjoy aspects of English women as well though, like personality wise. English girls are more chilled out and really sensual, while American girls tend to be more assertive. If I had to pick between the two. I’d say American, that’s the truth. I love American women.
Fun Fact: I have the same name as an Agricultural Business professor and I get emails all the time that are meant for him like, “Cookies in the break room!”
