Name

Laura Parker, but everyone calls me Parker.

English Major/Theater Minor

What are you involved with on campus?

I am involved with Cru, a Christian organization on campus. I am so stoked to be a community group leader this year with freshmen girls. I also adore being involved in the English club and StudentStage. The Theater program has been an amazing group to experience Cal Poly with. This year I joined the board for a slam poetry club called Anthem. I am also the Secretary of Writer’s Collective, woot woot!

Tell us more about the Writer’s Collective!

Writer’s collective is a creative writing group on campus that I joined my freshmen year. I can truly say I made some of my closest friends in this group. We get to do free-writes, aka fun prompts that we write on the spot together. Also we get to bring in our own work that can be a novel, poem, TV script, or even my style of Prosetry(prose and poetry) as dubbed by the group. I have never felt more at home than with these group of writers.

Is there anyone you are dying to see in concert right now?

I would love to see Dave Matthews in concert for the SIXTH TIME!

Favorite animal?

My favorite animal is a wolf, can’t help it.

What is one thing you think should be on everybody’s SLO bucket list?

Everybody should go to the poetry slam that Anthem puts on in the spring!!

Favorite show to binge watch on Netflix?

I could say One Tree Hill, but that is self-incriminating, so I’ll say Daredevil
