David Knight: ‘The VG’s Guy’

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Poly chapter.

Name: David Knight

Major: Anthropology and geography

Year: 3rd

Hometown: Watsonville, California

Relationship Status: Single

Celebrity Crush: Natalie Portman

Spirit Animal: Mustang

Fun fact: I look like Quagmire. (And his coworkers from VG’s call him that sometimes!)

Her Campus: What do people say is your best quality?

David Knight: My ability to make girls smile.

HC: What are you involved with on campus?

DK: I’ve worked at VG’s for the last three years.

HC: Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

DK: VG’s! Just kidding. I’ll probably be an archaeologist.

HC: Who has had the greatest influence on your life?

DK: My parents. I don’t know if that counts.

HC: If we were to give you a million dollars, what is the first thing you would spend it on?

DK: Free breakfast burritos for everybody!

HC: If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?

DK: I would go to Mesoamerica, Greece, the Pacific Islands — I want to go everywhere.

HC: What is your ideal first date experience?

DK: A candlelit dinner at Sage and a long walk on the beach.

HC: What is an ultimate deal breaker in a relationship?

DK: A nice smile. Just kidding, a fake smile though. You can tell when a girl is genuine or not.

HC: If your last name was a verb what would it mean?

DK: To run!

HC: What is your favorite thing about working at VG’s?

DK: My favorite thing would definitely be people I meet. Shout out to my coworkers and customers!

HC: What is your least favorite thing about working at VG’s?

DK: My least favorite thing would be cleaning the horchata machine. If only people knew how annoying it is.

HC: What is your favorite VG’s treat?

DK: Gotta go with a well-wrapped burrito.

HC: How do you manage your time between school and work?

DK: Learning to manage your time is one of the most important lessons of going to college in general. For me, it helps if I keep a list of things I need to get done that week. Then I go down that list, even if it means staying all night in the library.

HC: What do you do to de-stress after a long day of work and studying?

DK: To de-stress I usually watch some Netflix, talk with my roommates or eat. That is, until I realize its 4 a.m.

If you want a perfectly wrapped burrito, delicious waffles late at night or any other treat (except horchata), David is your guy!

Hi everyone! I'm Allie, I am a second year Sociology major minoring in Spanish and Statistics at Cal Poly SLO. I absolutely love living on the central coast. Family, friends, chai tea, Aziz Ansari, kittens, and smiling people are some of my favorite things!
Hi everyone! My name is Austin and I am a second year sociology major from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California! I have wonderful roommates, a fun family, genuine friends, but most of all I treasure my constantly evolving relationship with God. I like to learn, play piano, run, and just hang out with my loved ones. Someday, I hope that I can change the face of education in the United States so that there is more equality of opportunity in our wonderful country. I'd like to leave you with two quotes, one from my favorite person: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." -Jesus Christ and one from my favorite elf... well he's really a human raised by elves... "I just like to smile. Smiling's my favorite" -Buddy the elf Okay, have a great, loving, and smile-filled day! Love you all!
