7 Swim Suits You’ll Absolutely Need for Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Poly chapter.

With your spring break vacation quickly approaching, you’ve got your packing list ready to go. From your Rainbows to your favorite shades, you’ve got everything you need to rock your style. That is, until you notice a tragic, irreversible snag in the bikini you’ve loyally worn for the past couple of years. It’s time for a new suit, but where do you start? What kind do you get? Why do these things happen to good people? Don’t stress. Here are the top seven looks that you’re sure to see anywhere you look, and that you’re sure to kill it in this spring break.

1. High waisted bikini bottoms

The classic low rise look is being replaced this season. Pass up on the traditional bikini bottoms and go for the high-waisted look instead. This style seems to never fail, no matter what body type wears it. By drawing the eye in at the waist and out at the hips, high-waisted bikini bottoms never fail to accentuate your curves whether you’re lounging at the pool or playing in the ocean.

2. Cut-out one pieces

We all witnessed the crazy increase in the one piece swim suit’s popularity last season. And while that hasn’t gone away, there are some new takes on this look this year. When you’re picking out a new suit for this spring, consider a one piece with unique cut outs to step away from the typical one piece look. Just don’t forget to put sunblock wherever the cutouts are!

3. Bandeau bikini tops

If you’d rather go with a bikini, bandeau tops are the way to go. They come in countless different styles and patterns, leaving you with plenty of freedom to show your true style.

4. Patterns and neon

This year is your time to be bold. No matter what style you go with, try out a fun pattern or some bright neon colors. Or combine both! No one will ever say you’re boring when you wear this swim suit.

5. Belts

A look that’s a bit more new but should definitely be tried is the belted swim suit. With already increasing amounts of popularity, this swim suit will be sure to wow others with its simple yet fashionable look.

6. Velvet

Another look that’s seeing a rise to fame is the velvet swim suit. Whether you go for this look with a bikini or a swim suit, you’ll feel comfortable and stylish. And as you should during spring break – you earned it.

7. Ruffles and frills

If you’re looking to stand out just a bit more, try out a suit with some extra frills and ruffles added on. This can take any traditional suit into a new level of style without looking over the top crazy. The ruffles add more texture while maintaining a simple and neat look.

No matter what suit you end up going with, we know you’re going to rock your style and we hope you have the best spring break yet.
