5 Makeup Tips for the Perfect Spring Look

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Poly chapter.

Spring is the season of rebirth. It is a time to try (and maybe fail) to get your life together, but hey… it’s the thoughtthat counts, right? With spring just around the corner it’s time to freshen up those faces in time for the new season. These few techniques and products will become part of your lifestyle this spring season.

1. A dewy foundation

Matte is great for the winter and fall, but for spring you want a glowy and fresh face.

The solution: dewy foundation.

I suggest the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in the dewy finish. It’s a drug store product so it is definitively affordable but does not compromise quality. In fact, I enjoy this foundation more then some higher end products.

2. Bright, rosy pink blush

In the springtime, you are going to want to have a brighter cheek. Not only will it compliment the scenery around you, but it will also brighten up your face. My favorite is the Elf blush in the shade Fuchsia Fusion. It is only $3 at Target and has incredible pigmentation.

3. Brown eyeliner

In times when it is sunnier outside with a cool breeze, you aren’t going to want to have as harsh of makeup. Brown eyeliner is one of the most natural looking makeup products that you can wear and it also does an amazing job at making your eyes pop. My go-to brown eyeliner is the Maybelline Unstoppable in the shade Cinnabar. It is extremely affordable and never smears.

4. A makeup setting spray

As the weather gets warmer our faces get more sweaty. It’s inevitable. A great way to bypass this is by applying makeup setting spray. It keeps your makeup in place all day and night! The best one I have ever used is Urban Decay’s All-Nighter setting spray.

5. The perfect lip

The best way to finish off your fresh face is with your favorite lipstick. I personally love color stains or anything pink, but rock whatever you feel most confident in!
