4 Ways You Can Still Celebrate Halloween in COVID Times

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Poly chapter.

Halloween doesn’t have to be cancelled this year. Here are a few ways you can still get spooky.

Host a Zoom Costume Contest

If you can’t bear the thought of spending Halloween without your friends, dress up and host a costume party over Zoom! You can create a poll and have the party attendees cast their votes on the best costumes. If the participants want a prize incentive, the winner can receive a virtual giftcard to Amazon or a restaurant/store of their choice.

Have a Halloween Themed Night In

Order a pizza, bake some Halloween cookies, put on a classic horror movie like Scream, and treat yourself. Who says you can’t have a good time on your own?

Exchange Halloween Baskets With Your Friends

Arrange a Halloween basket exchange with your best friends! Fill your goodie basket with candy, giftcards, and DIY gifts, and drop them off at each other’s dorms or houses.

Find a Drive-Thru Halloween Event

The city of Santa Maria is to hold a drive-thru Halloween experience for three weekends in October starting Oct. 16-17. Attendees will remain in their car and experience a drive-thru haunted house complete with sound effects. Click here to buy tickets!
