10 Must-Have Fall Items From Trader Joe’s

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cal Poly chapter.

Fall is a great season for going to pumpkin patches, finally wearing scarves and boots from the back of your closet and eating delicious food. To help curb your fall food cravings, we’ve compiled a list of some must-have items to try at Trader Joe’s this season!

1. Pumpkin Butter

Pumpkin everything is a fall classic loved and anticipated by many, and this year Trader Joe’s is embodying this go-to with Pumpkin Butter. While it’s not actually made with butter, it does have a butter-like consistency. It can be used in a variety of ways, whether it’s mixed into oatmeal, spread on top of french toast or inside a baked sweet potato.

2. Chocolate Mousse Pumpkins

These mini chocolate cakes are layered with chocolate mousse and covered in a layer of orange-colored chocolate. They’re cute, festive and look great spread out on a platter during a Friendsgiving get-together.

3. Pumpkin Cranberry Crisps

A twist on the typical cheese plate accessory, these crackers can be topped with anything you like, from Pumpkin Butter to Toscano Cheese With Cinnamon (see number 10).

4. Harvest Blend Salad Mix

Pumpkin spice season can quickly add up in calories and sugar, but this salad mix lets you have your pumpkin and eat it too. The salad blends spinach, kale, broccoli and cauliflower along with roasted pumpkin seeds, pumpkin cornbread croutons and a pumpkin vinaigrette, making it the perfect on-the-go lunch inbetween classes.

5. Pumpkin Ginger Mini Ice Cream Cones

It may be fall, but oftentimes the weather still screams summer. It can be hard to get into the autumn spirit when you’re still wearing shorts and tank tops, but this cool treat lets you have the best of both worlds. Trader Joe’s is selling mini pumpkin ginger ice cream cones that combine summer and fall into one cozy, but cold dessert.

6. Butternut Squash Mac and Cheese

Butternut squash is another fall favorite and Trader Joe’s has turned it into a savory and sweet pasta. This macaroni is found in the freezer section and can easily be served as a side dish or quick lunch.

7. Fall Harvest Salsa

This salsa takes your Taco Tuesday to a seasonal level. It has typical salsa ingredients like jalapenos, red peppers and tomatillos along with some unexpected flavors like heirloom pumpkins, butternut squash and apple, adding unique flavors to your typical taco.

8. Pumpkin Spice Almond Beverage

Sometimes the pumpkin spice fad can be frustrating when you can’t enjoy pumpkin spice lattes. Now, this milk alternative lets you get in the fall spirit. Whether you enjoy it cold on its own or mixed into coffee, smoothies or as baking mix for brownies and cakes, this lets you follow your dietary needs while enjoying the flavors of fall.

9. Apple Caramel Greek Yogurt

A “guilt-free” treat, this yogurt tastes like the popular caramel apple treat, but with less calories and sugar. It goes great as a treat after a bowl of butternut squash mac and cheese or as a late night snack.

10. Toscano Cheese With Cinnamon

This fall item doesn’t have the expected fall flavors of pumpkin, apple or squash, but it’s still a must-have for a cheese board. This cheese is creamy and nutty with mild hints of spicy cinnamon. Whether it’s placed on a cracker or paired with fruit, its seasonal flavor enhances any snack. We suggest you pair it with the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Cranberry Crisps as a yummy fall snack.

These fall items from Trader Joes are sure to get you in the fall spirit, so enjoy any (or all) of these delicious items while they’re still in season!
