Being a new writer for Her Campus, I think makes sense to give an introduction so that you can get a sense of who I am. But first and foremost, I would like to thank the writing team for bringing me in and I also would like to say that I am beyond stoked to be a part of this team. There is so much that my fellow writers and I have to say, so sit back, buckle your seatbelt, and enjoy the ride!
So, who am I?
I am a daughter and a first generation student. I have the most incredible parents ever, who have sacrificed so much for me to get me where I am today. They were unable to continue their education after immigrating from Vietnam to New York, where they had me. So, everything I accomplish is not only for myself, but also for them. They work long hard hours so that I can receive a higher education and have a roof over my head. I am indebted to them for all that they have done for me and I will continue to try my best to make them proud.

I am a dog mom. This is my dog, Ellie, who is my pride and joy. I’ve wanted a dog since the French Revolution and it wasn’t until earlier this year that my mom gave me the okay and I adopted this little one. She is one of the sassiest dogs I’ve ever encountered, but she is also incredibly intelligent and fun to be around. She knows how to sit, lay down, give you her paw, stand, and spin — if and only if you give her a treat. She also loves meeting new people and playing fetch! My love for her is beyond the depths of the ocean, so expect to hear more about her in the near future!

I am optimistic. There is so much turmoil in the world right now, but I am determined to create a positive impact on this world. I try to educate others and be empathetic and open-minded in hopes that others will do the same. By doing so, we can bolster one another instead of tearing each other down. I have not given up yet, and I am hopeful things will be better as time goes by.

I am a concert-goer. Music, to me, is everything. It brings people together, and I truly believe that it just might be the common ground between everyone. It is so beautiful to see people from all over coming to meet in one space and sing along to music they all love. I have seen Lana Del Rey, Kehlani, Bazzi, Khalid, SZA, Amine, X Ambassadors, One Direction, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and Fifth Harmony in concert, and I still haven’t processed that I have. Here’s to more concerts!

I am me. I am all the above and more, but ultimately I am me. I am someone who enjoys watching the sunset at the beach. I am a procrastinator. I am a proud person who is part of the LGBTQIA+ community. I am an emotionally driven person. I am someone who loves meeting new people and being in big crowds. I am a cousin and a friend. I am an altruistic and compassionate person. I am me, and this is just a bit of who I am.
