Happy Valentine’s Day! I simply love Valentine’s Day. It’s a excuse to wear red and eat candy while telling everyone you love them. After Valentine’s Day candy sales are the best.

I wanted to show off two Valentine’s Day outfits. One of them I put together and is a little bit more cutesy and feminine, yet I still think, sexy. The other outfit, fellow Her Campus writer Emily put together; hers is definitely more skin-bearing, but still classy. The length of the skirt perfectly balances the lovely cut out details on the top. This is a case in which accessories and hair really make the outfit. Emily’s hair makes her outfit more dressy; the heels I wore with mine make it a bit more formal and not as “little girl”. My dress is a little short, so I do think these heels are a bit overkill, but I just wanted to show what a difference shoes can make. Emily’s modest heels kept the look flirty but not garish, not to mention more comfortable. Both outfits are formal, but not over the top, which makes them great for dates: playful but modest. Emily’s dress is something that I would wear for a formal date, maybe if it’s someone I’ve been seeing for a while; it’s a bit more serious and definetly the right outfit a fancy dinner out.

Unfortunately, I do not have Emily’s outfit details, but I did her hair, the tutorial for which will be available on the Her Campus at Cal Lutheran website.

As for me, my dress is three years old from the clearance at Topshop. I have affectionately named this dress “heart tits” and I wear it all the time. I love it! The dress might not show too much skin, but the placement of the hearts makes the dress very coquettish, which I think is great for Valentine’s Day. My shoes are Betsey Johnson Blue (her bridal collection) and they should still be available.
