Single on Valentine’s Day? Why does that have to be a bad thing? Lack of boyfriend does not mean lack of good time. You just have to make your Valentine’s Day a celebration of all the great parts of being single instead.

Now, there are quite a few ways you could go about this. The most common approach is to hate everyone and everything involving Valentine’s Day.

This never really goes over well, and you come off like a complete jerk when your sarcastic comments ruin the Instagram posts of every couple. Also, don’t expect success with pretending Valentine’s Day isn’t happening. Trust me.

Now, there are some ways to successfully enjoy the single life on Valentine’s Day without living in a complete state of denial. You could be your own valentine!

Treat yourself to a nice relaxing day where you don’t even have to get out of bed, get dressed or put on makeup. This is the perfect opportunity to watch every romantic comedy offered on Netflix.

You can even get yourself some chocolates to enjoy since you won’t have to spend money on a gift for your boyfriend. If you can hold out long enough, everything will be on super-sale February 15 and you can get the extra-large box.

Worried being your own valentine is too cheesy? Find some friends and do a girl’s night! Whether you go out for a nice dinner together or stay in and complain about how awful guys are (typical even when it isn’t Valentine’s Day) you know itā€˜ll be a good time.

So, single ladies, just because it’s February doesn’t mean it’s time to go into depression mode. There’s plenty of perks to riding solo even on the day of love. Relax. Worse comes to worst, just look up pictures of cute guys with your friends.
