It’s finals week and everyone’s stressed tf out. With all the stress-release techniques out there, it’s hard to figure out which one is actually the most beneficial. Personally, I have found the perfect, cheapest way to take your mind off your worries – take a walk!

We live in Charleston, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Since it’s so flat, close to the water, and full of historic homes and hidden gardens, walking through the city is always gorgeous. My all time favorite path is the walk to White Point Gardens and the Battery, especially during sunset.

This is one of the best ways to handle stress because you’re taking a break from whatever you’re studying, getting some much needed fresh air, exercising, and taking in some pretty amazing views. You can also adjust your destination for how far you want to walk and how much time you have to take a break.

If you like taking pictures, Charleston is one of the best places to do so. Listening to your favorite music while walking to sunset is an extremely de-stressing experience. However, taking a walk is also the perfect time to disconnect, so you can put your phone away and just embrace the views and fresh air. Totally up to you.

This is the best thing I’ve found for stress release, and I always return from my walks with a clearer mind and a heightened motivation to finish my work. Embrace the city, get some fresh air, and take your mind off whatever is worrying you. Trust me.

All pictures are photos I have taken while walking around Charleston as a study break. Take a deep breath, go on a walk, and kill those finals!
