Style Guide: Summer Essentials

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at C of C chapter.

Summer is almost here! That means surf, sand, sun, and repeat for many of us! During this prime beach season, we must stock up on a few style essentials. Between bonfires on the beach, lounging in a hammock, and brunch dates, everyone needs a little something to perk up their outfit.

Listed below are five must-haves:

  • A Chic Pair of Sunnies: Make sure your shades go with your face shape. Pick something funky (such as heart-shaped), trendy (such as cat eyes), or classic (such as a basic round).
  • Bikini: This is an obvious necessity. You want to look fabulous while you are basking your skin on the beach. You will be a bronze goddess in no time.
  • Maxi Dress or a Maxi Skirt: There is so much you can do with this look. It can be dressed up or dressed down. Also, it is a very breezy and comfortable outfit.
  • Wedges: Flats normally are the go to pick, but try stepping it up a notch (literally!)  Wedges would definitely look great with the maxi dress or maxi skirt.
  • SPF: Sunscreen is completely necessary. DO NOT FORGET TO PROTECT YOUR SKIN! Look specifically for UVA and UVB protection in a sunscreen. You will thank me later!
