Are you starting to buy Christmas gifts for your loved ones? Well, I need to, but of course, I have not gotten that far yet. After finals, my goal is to go shopping all over Charleston and try to buy as many gifts from local businesses as I can. Since the coronavirus pandemic began, so many small businesses have struggled immensely, so I hope you use this list to support them!

Something About Me

This boutique just opened in October, and I could not be happier about it. It is seriously a girl’s dream closet. They carry all different styles from edgy to floral to classy – they have it all. I especially love that they carry my personal favorite brand, For Love & Lemons, which you can never go wrong with gifting someone. Definitely stop by when you are Christmas shopping!

Harken Cafe

Who does not love coffee, tea, and amazing baked goods? A gift card to Harken would be a fabulous gift for a local Charlestonian! Also, if you are celebrating Christmas close by, you must bring some of their fabulous pastries. The Queen of Hearts brownie is my favorite and even has gold glitter on top! Like, c’mon now!

Gwynn’s of Mount Pleasant

Gwynn’s is a family-owned department store that is located in Mount Pleasant. They are similar to a Nordstrom but smaller and local. The store has a variety of men’s and women’s wear, home decor, jewelry, and more. I love going here during Christmastime and browsing. Trust me, do not go in a rush because you will want to look for a while!

Hustle Smoothie Bar & Market

I feel like everyone has that one person in their life that is all about being healthy. Well, Helen Hall would be their best friend. She is the queen of being healthy, but all while having a balance. Helen firmly believes in the 80×20 lifestyle and created the perfect superfood ball, known as a “blender bomb.” She was able to open a smoothie bar where they make smoothies with the blender bombs. Let me just say, almost my whole paycheck goes to Hustle. Oops. Still worth it, though. I highly recommend getting your healthy friend a box of blender bombs or, if they live in Charleston, a gift card to Hustle. You cannot go wrong here! Honestly, I am not even the healthy friend, and I still love it, so really, this could go for anyone.

Cannonborough Collective

This adorable shop is one I often go to when in need of a gift for someone. They carry a huge variety of gifts. For example, I would go there to buy gifts for my grandma, best friend, and therapist. See what I mean when I say huge variety? Also, they carry the most fabulous candles, and if you have read my past articles, you know I am already obsessed.

I really hope if you are local to Charleston that you will consider shopping from one of these places or other small businesses. I genuinely love all of them and will absolutely be doing my Christmas shopping at each one in the next few weeks!

Hey, my name is Molly! I am a Senior at the College of Charleston and am majoring in English. I am from Saratoga Springs, NY, but absolutely love the warm weather here! I spend most of my time nannying or reading Betches.
