HC: What made you choose to come to College of Charleston?

RD: The beaches, the city, the amazing restaurants. You can’t beat the academics, or the girl to guy ratio.

What do you miss most about Maryland?

The Crab cakes and football.

What would be your ideal Date?

Walking down the beach at sunset waiting for the stars to come out and then ending it all at taco bell.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Where to begin…

How did you choose your major?

Through my passion of helping others – specifically in business – and wanting to create something new for society.

Where would you like to be after college?

Hopefully on an island in the Bahamas and owning my own company.

What has been your favorite class thus far?

Poetry, I never knew how powerful and inspiring words could truly be.

Do you have any advice for freshman?

Enjoy every minute because it just gets worse after that.. only talking about academics, of course.

What is a normal day like for you?

I can’t say there has ever been a normal day for me.

What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?

Read a nice book, while drinking a cup of coffee at the beach.

Who is your celebrity idol/inspiration?

2-Chainz, because of how his words can inspire others.

Do you have any hidden talents/hobbies?

Tying a cherry stem with my tongue.

What do you look for in a girl?

Great sense of humor, and she has to be able to handle sitting through an entire football game.

What is one thing that really bothers you about girls?

Really weird elbows

What is your favorite thing about Charleston girls?

Their openness – and you can’t beat those sundresses.

Camilla States is a member of the class of 2015 at The College of Charleston.  She hails from the seaside town of Gloucester, Massachusetts, where she enjoys spending her summers on both land and sea.  A Communications major also pursuing a minor in Political Science, Camilla aspires for a future career in broadcast or print journalism. She is also studying Modern Standard Arabic, with hopes of one day becoming proficient in the language. From a young age, Camilla has held a fascination for world geography and foreign cultures.  She hopes to someday traverse the world, from New England to New Zealand and everywhere in between.
