Here are my four favorite book recommendations in different four genres in case you feel like you haven’t read anything new recently.

Letters to the Lost

By: Brigid Kemmerer

This novel features a girl dealing with the stages of grief as she comes to terms with her mother’s sudden passing while trying to make it through high school. She ends up meeting someone online who is also going through a difficult time and the two bond. The story takes several surprising turns and has many interesting characters. For fans of books with emotional stories and flawed characters who are not perfect.

The Girls of Atomic City: The Untold Story of the Women Who Helped Win World War II

This historical fiction novel tells the story of the women who worked on Project Manhattan and lived in the town of Oak Ridge where the workers all lived. The story tells how the women all started out believing it was a wonderful chance to live and work at Oak Ridge, then how they began to question the purpose of the town. For fans of historical novels and history.  

The Graveyard Book

This novel tells the story of Bod, a young boy who lives in a graveyard with all the spirits who inhabit its grounds. Bod learns how to live in both the worlds of the dead and living. In addition to the novel, the graphic novel is also incredible and the art truly adds more to the experience. For fans of slightly spooky stories and stories that are unique. 

The Glass Castle

This memoir of the author’s life, tells the story of Walls’s life as a child until adulthood. She tells about how she grew up traveling around the country then eventually settling in a rural area of West Virginia. The memoir tells the story about the hardships of Walls’s family and how they navigate their lives. For fans of powerful memoirs and highly emotional and impactful stories.
