Meet Kendal Fay, ’15

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at C of C chapter.

This week’s campus cutie is a hard-working double major in sociology and communications with a bubbly persona and a kind heart to match.  Junior Kendal Fay is outgoing, laid back, and an all-around great friend to many here on campus.  She has spent the past few months working at summer camp, attending music festivals and even traveling Europe, and is currently loving life here in Charleston.

Favorite class so far: Death and Dying, which was my freshman seminar.  It was a sociology class studying how death is perceived in  different cultures.  From that class, I decided to major in sociology.

Favorite memory from this summer: I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers play at Firefly Music Festival this summer in Delaware.  The band took the stage at midnight on my birthday.  I was there with my brother and best friend, we had waited at the stage all night for them to come on, so we were super close to the front.  The energy was amazing, and it was an incredible way to spend my birthday.

Best food in Charleston:  FIG on Meeting Street.  I love their ricotta filled gnocchi in a bolognese sauce.

Celebrity crush: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but I also have a girl crush on Jennifer Lawrence.  I think she’s awesome.

Favorite freshman year memory: The weekend I went to my friend’s beach house spontaneously with a huge group of my friends.

Plans for after graduation: Take a year off from classes to work in a hospital, and afterwords apply to PA school to become a physician’s assistant.

Camilla States is a member of the class of 2015 at The College of Charleston.  She hails from the seaside town of Gloucester, Massachusetts, where she enjoys spending her summers on both land and sea.  A Communications major also pursuing a minor in Political Science, Camilla aspires for a future career in broadcast or print journalism. She is also studying Modern Standard Arabic, with hopes of one day becoming proficient in the language. From a young age, Camilla has held a fascination for world geography and foreign cultures.  She hopes to someday traverse the world, from New England to New Zealand and everywhere in between.
