1) Why did you decide to come to CofC?

I have always loved Charleston, growing up my family always came down here for the beach; the Jersey Shore was never my beach, Charleston was. I loved the idea of coming to school in a city that was familiar to me yet had something left that I could discover on my own.

2) What organizations are you involved in on campus?

I am a sister in the Phi Mu Fraternity and on the Executive Board of Dance Marathon at the College of Charleston.

3) Can you tell us about your position on the Executive Board for Dance Marathon?

My position on the board of Dance Marathon is called the Co-Entertainment Chair. I share this position with someone else because it encompasses a lot of Dance Marathon. We are in charge of all of the entertainment that will be at the actual Dance Marathon event next semester. We make sure everyone is having a good time and keep things moving from one thing to the next throughout the day.

4) What are you most excited about for Dance Marathon this year?

I am honestly just so excited to work with everyone on the board. Last year as an attendee of the event I did not know much about it, but within the first hour of being there I could see the passion that the exec board put into the day and I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.

5) What has been one of the most rewarding parts about being involved with Dance Marathon?

I cannot talk much of my current experience as a board member yet, but as for being involved with Dance Marathon was amazing. The day is so fun and families from our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital (MUSC) come and share their stories and it really puts so much into perspective. Also as a member of Phi Mu, our national philanthropy is also Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, knowing that I am helping these kids from two separate aspects of my life is something I am super excited about.

6) Do you have any role models or people you look up to for inspiration?

Obviously I really look up to my family that are all so cool in their own ways and always are doing something new that I just cannot believe we are related. I also look up to my “family” in my sorority they all are involved in so much around campus and outside of it that it amazes me and makes me want to become more involved. My big in the sorority, Emily, has actually been on the Dance Marathon Executive Board for a couple years now and she was a huge support when I was deciding on applying and she really gave me the inspiration to want to do it and the courage to sign up.

7) What personal goals do you have for yourself?

Personal goals I have is kind of a loaded question. There is so much I want to accomplish not only in school, but in life. I just want to be a good people so people can hopefully look up to me and so I can just do me.
