With awards season coming around and plenty of new shows and seasons popping up, there’s no better time to start thinking about all the parties you can host! I’m going to share a few of my go-to tips for hosting a Pinterest-worthy watch party that you and your friends can enjoy when you take a break from all the studying!

Grab a Drink

I’m not going to lie, half of my motivation for socializing is thinking about what kind of drinks will be served. Don’t get me wrong, I love being with my friends, but if I know that there’s something tasty waiting for me at my destination, I’m gonna be a lot more eager to show up.The best part is that a yummy drink doesn’t always have to break the bank.

There are plenty of ways to attain Pinterest-worthy drinks on a college budget; just mix some seltzer water with juice from whatever fruit is in season, add some ice, and you’re good to go. If you want to take it a step farther you can add a couple of shots of your favorite adult beverage.

Don’t Forget the Cheese Board

My number one rule when it comes to snacks at parties is that a charcuterie board can do no wrong. You don’t always have to splurge for expensive crackers and cheeses, instead, try hitting up your local Trader Joes and take a look at their premade boards or just grab some pretzels and cheese cubes from your local grocery store. Grab some lunch meats from the deli section, throw it on a plate, and you’re in business.

Get Cozy

A super important factor to any kind of watch party is making sure your guests are as cozy as possible. If your party is small, just throw some of your own blankets in a cute basket and tell everybody to grab one before they sit, if your party is a little bigger think about asking your guests to bring their own blankets.

Throw in a DIY Project

If you want to feel really boujee, you can run to the dollar store and pick up a wine glass for only $1 per guest. Take it one step farther and individualize them by writing names on the glasses with a paint pen. This DIY is super easy to do and won’t break the bank!

Ask for Help

Don’t be afraid to ask for help! While most of this stuff is pretty low budget, you may not want to take on this financial burden by yourself. If you’re willing to let a bunch of your friends into your home to enjoy a fun night together, they should be willing to pitch in $5 or bring a few of their own supplies. Think about asking each person to bring a block of cheese or mixer, I’m sure they would be more than happy to lend a hand.

These are all fun ideas for hosting a watch party, but make sure you don’t get too stressed in the planning proccess. It’s easy to get carried away in all of your fabulous ideas, but you’re really going to want to keep this as low pressure as possible and prioritize having fun with your friends!
