It is officially spooky season and Halloween is rapidly approaching. With crazy costumes, popping’ parties, and more candy than we can eat, you might be in search of some fancier snacks to chow down on with your friends.  As most of us probably live inside dorms and have a limited budget, here are some super easy and relatively inexpensive!) Halloween treats to share with your friends! 

Witches Broom Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzels

The perfect handheld snack with a spooky twist!

Ingredients: 

-Pretzel rods

-Semi-sweet chocolate chips

-Peanut butter

-Orange and purple sprinkles 

 

Instructions

  1. Grab a knife and spread the peanut butter on the top 3/4 of the pretzel, leaving room to hold it at the end.
  2. Melt enough chocolate chips to coat as many pretzels as you put peanut butter on.
  3. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the peanut butter for a lighter taste, or dip to coat for a chocolate explosion. 
  4. Before the chocolate has time to set, sprinkle on the festive colored sprinkles!
  5. Refrigerate until set or stick them in the freezer for faster cooling. 

 

Dracula’s Fangtastic Apple Sticks

A traditional fall harvest treat with a few extra ingredients!

Ingredients 

-Apples

-Kabob Sticks

-Caramel 

-Toppings: Peanuts, Reece’s Piece’s, Oreo crumbles, etc. 

Instructions: 

  1. Slice up the apples and place each piece longways on a kabob stick. 
  2. Melt caramel to cover the apples.
  3. Before the caramel has time to set, roll the apple slice in your favorite toppings like peanuts or mini m&ms! 

 

Mummy’s Healthy Candy Corn Parfait 

A yummy snack without lots of sugar for those wanting to stay healthy! 

Ingredients 

-Pineapple slices

-Mandarian oranges

-Vanilla yogurt 

Instructions

  1. Fill the first third of the glass with pineapple.
  2. Fill the second third with mandarin oranges. 
  3. Top it off with the vanilla yogurt

 

Casper’s White Chocolate Ghosts

Another fruity treat turned creepy. 

Ingredients 

-Fresh strawberries

-White chocolate chips 

-Dark chocolate chips 

 

Instructions 

  1. Melt the white chocolate and coat the fresh whole strawberry. 
  2. Melt a small amount of dark chocolate to dot on as eyes!
