Exams are terrible. I am studying for them right now and am losing brain cells by the second. The only way I seem to get through the long hours of studying are dance parties. This sounds really stupid and that’s because it is. I have to close my books for two minutes or so and dance around to a bop. Last semester I stuck to classics like Mamma Mia by Abba or Beautiful Soul by Jesse McCartney. However, it is Christmas and I need some Christmas bops for my exam dance parties. These four songs will get you out of your funk and into some funky moves (oh my god that’s the worst joke I have ever made in my life).

1. “Pennies from Heaven” – Louis Prima

This song is basically just a lot of scatting. Yes, you read that correctly. Scatting is when jazz singers improvise random tunes with nonsense lyrics and that’s…basically the whole song. It is featured in the movie Elf and will give you chaotic Christmas vibes. Try to sing along to these random lyrics while you dance around, and it is a sure-fire way to get your roommates to be concerned about your well-being.

2. “What Christmas Means to Me” – Stevie Wonder

This gem will get you in the dancing spirit. Its jazzy, Christmassy, and just so fun. If you don’t want to dance to it you could just walk around town and pretend you’re in a Christmas movie montage.

3. “All I Want for Christmas is You” – Mariah Carey

This is the best song ever no further explanation needed.

4. “My Only Wish (This Year)” – Britney Spears

This Britney Spears song is truly awful, but it is my favorite Christmas song. Its like All I Want for Christmas is You but its much worse. It pretty much has the same message, but the execution is just not good. It’s also in my favorite Christmas movie of all time, “Snow Globe”, and it is truly is a bop like no other.

Moral of the story folks: I am tired, and the world needs more dance parties. Hope you all get through exam season and have a Merry Christmas. I am wishing you all A+’s, Britney Spears dance parties and most of all a scatting session that alarms every person you live with.
