Alex Norwood, a junior at the College, is an Arts Management major with a desire to make it big in music. Growing up in Rockville Centre, New York, with his large family of six, he spent his time playing soccer, basketball, and learning to play the piano. He loves his childhood memories, and still considers his parents the drive behind his success, (not to mention his mother’s amazing Chicken Parmesan!) On any given day, you can find Alex jamming out to Alternative, EDM, or Hip-Hop/Rap music, watching the latest flick, or catching the big game. Tall, dark and handsome are just a few of Alex’s qualities, and HerCampus was delighted for Alex to take some time out of his day to share with us his love for CofC, his future plans, and of course, to talk girls!

So Alex, What drew you to the College of Charleston?

I transferred here as a sophomore because I wanted a change.  What drew me to the College of Charleston was the weather, and the fact that the college was located right in downtown Charleston.

What do you miss most about high school?

Sports, and knowing mostly everybody in the school.

What motivates you to be successful?

My parents who continue to push me each and every day to do my best.

If you could be any celebrity, who would you be and why?

Tyler Joseph, who is the lead singer of my favorite band, Twenty One Pilots. He is a creative genius and I wish I wrote all of his songs.  Jonah Hill would be another choice, because he’s my favorite actor.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Making music for a living, residing in California or NYC.

What do you think is the most important aspect of a healthy relationship?

Having a real connection with each other and having similar interests that allow you to do a lot of cool things together.

What have you learned most about past relationships?

I’ve really only had one serious girlfriend, and that was back in high school.  What I learned from that was not too get so involved with someone so quickly because you never know when they will decide to end it.

Describe your dream girl. What’s she like?

My dream girl is definitely beautiful, but also is really chill and funny and has a great personality.  She has to have interests, music and movies would be a plus, and she has to be active and like to go out and do fun stuff.

How would you describe your style?

Ugh, I guess normal.  Definitely not preppy or anything.

What do you think is your best quality?

I think I’m a nice guy who’s very honest and reliable.

Last question. What are three things you just can’t live without?

My family, music, and good food.

She had a cocktail in her hand and confetti in her hair.
