6 Great Things about the Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at C of C chapter.

After a long semester of hard work, its great to just have the summer to relax and enjoy yourself. There are many things you can do during the summer or you can decide to do nothing at all. If you want to enjoy your summer while also relaxing, here are 6 great things about in the summer:

1. Sleeping-in: For those used to getting up for your 8am’s, now you dont have to worry about being late for class.

2. Star-gazing: The best time is when its a cool night and the sky is clear. Though if you’re still in the city, you may not have the best view.\

3. Traveling: Catch up with friends over the summer with a mini roadtrip. It would save y’all money and y’all could still explore a little.

4. Not dieting: If you made your goal of having a summer body in time for summer – Great! If not, you still have plenty enough time to look great when you come back to school. No worries! Either way you can have some sweats now and then, it’s summer you’ve got to live a little.

5. The Beach: Going to the beach in the summer becomes a daily event. Charleston has three beaches, so you can switch the scenery up every once and a while.

6. Drive-In Theatre: There are only a few left in the U. S. Lucky for us, there is one in Beaufort that is open on the weekends that shows current movies.

With exams ending, summer is approaching fast. The warmer weather makes the longing for our relaxing summers, we all enjoy, to be all that more unbearable. Summer can’t come fast enough!

I am a freshman at the College of Charleston with a major in international studies and a local of Charleston. As well, I am a Phi Mu sister and I am a member of International Club. I hope to declare a minor in Spanish and another minor in French. I hope to write for a magazine or to translate for a magazine or newspaper. I love watching movies, listening to music, reading, or writing in my spare time.
