This one’s for the seniors.

I think we can all agree that senior year hit us square in the face. They say is goes fast, but, boy, does it really go fast. Many students struggle with finding the balance between savoring every last moment and dealing with the pressures of preparing for the future. I think senior year is tougher than any of us could have imagined it was going to be.  Here are some of the hardest parts about it.

Not that college is all fun and games, but lets face it, we’ve had a good time.  Senior year finally brings on the pressure to get your act together.

Not to mention, on top of all the capstone classes for your major and minor, the burden of applying to grad school, internships and a job is constantly hanging over your head.

The realization that shortly you will no longer be living within 5 minutes of your best friends is starting to freak you out.

And you’re afraid of drifting apart.

The thought of moving back home with your parents after graduation is not an entertaining one.

Everyone says to make the most of your senior year and have as much fun possible…

…But sometimes studying takes top priority.

Fear of missing out syndrome (FOMO) is common, especially when all of your friends decide to go to grab 50-cent beers at the cabin, and you’re stuck staying in and prepping for that killer exam at 9 a.m. the next morning.

One day, you are “so over college.”

The next day, you are a basket case looking at old pictures, never wanting these years to end.

These back and forth emotions can be draining.

This year tends to be the biggest roller coaster of our collegiate years.

But can also be the best one yet.

Time at Central Michigan University will never be forgotten.  The memories and friendships will last a lifetime.  Cherish these last few months. What gets me through these hard parts of senior year is realizing how much lies ahead.  We are about to start a whole new and exciting chapter, with new people to meet and places to see.  The opportunities are endless. We are still so young and just because college is about to be over, doesn’t mean our fun is over. Our lives are really only just beginning.
