March Madness: The Fashion Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at C Mich chapter.

Lets just start by agreeing that March is probably the most awkward transitional month on the calendar. It’s not exactly winter anymore (unless you live on the East Coast) and not quite spring yet, but it’s not the weather that is making you mad it’s how to dress for this awkward weather. Think about how many days you wake up and the sun is shining, so you are unsure if you should keep the Uggs on or try a more spring look. Well, have no fear here are a few tips to help you transition from one season to the next.

Light wash denimsYou have been wearing those darn leggings for the past six months and it’s time that they retire. Instead go out and pick yourself up a nice pair of pale jeans. You can find these light denims at just about every clothing store, but these are my all-time fave.

H&M – Boyfriend Low Jeans $40

White OutIf you already have a pair of light wash denims, then you should just take the next step and buy a pair of white pants or jeggings. I personally prefer jeggings because you get the look of a pant with the comfortably of leggings.  I like to get my white pants from one place and one place only: American Eagle.

American Eagle – White Jeggings $40

All for one and one for all…The one-piece jumpsuit that is. Rompers are for the summer, but did everyone forget that you can just as easily wear a one-piece jumpsuit in the winter and spring, too? The best part about a one-piece is just that — a one-piece. No need to find a top that matches your bottoms or vice versa. Here is a black jumpsuit for all you still in winter season depression.

H&M – Black Jumpsuit $35

Pop of colorThis can be done with both pastels like lavender and mint green or you can make a bold statement with some bright neon colors. Have fun with all these electric hues. My favorite store to find these colors at is Express. Here is my latest neon color obsession:

American Eagle – Bodycon Shift Dress $30

Cutoffs and tightsNothing says it’s almost summer quite like cutoffs paired with tights. This is also a great way to get that street-chic look down pat and is perfect for a night out. Tights are easy to find just about anywhere, but I prefer the $5 tights from Target,  and if you don’t already have a pair of cutoffs, here is one of my favorite pairs:

Forever 21 – Denim Cutoffs $18
