Ideas to Try in Your Senior Year of College

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at C Mich chapter.

It’s finally here! You’re finally in your senior year at college. You’ve accomplished so much. You’re almost ready to enter the official adult world. While senioritis may be currently taking over your life right now, here are a few ideas to make your senior year in college the best year yet.

Take a class just for fun

Do something you haven’t done before. Take a class just for fun. Maybe try a sculpture class or a yoga class to get you through the day? Maybe take a class on a subject you know nothing about. Learn something completely new this year.

Do something off-campus

Some of us have probably been living in a bubble for the past couple of years. Try to do something off-campus each week. Try volunteer work, such as walking dogs at your local animal shelter or volunteering at your local soup kitchen. It’s nice to step away from campus life sometimes, so why not volunteer in your community?

Make a new college memory every week

Try to make new memories this year, but better yet — make new memories every week. Grab a friend and take a mini-vacation somewhere. Go to a restaurant you’ve never been to before. Try out a new hobby. Take lots of photos.

Try something in the arts

If you’re not an art major, maybe try a new artistic hobby. Take a painting class. Paint pottery. Adventure your town and take pictures. You never know what you can create.

Start a freelance business online

This is a great project to invest your time into. You can easily create a website for freelance services or promote them on websites like UpWork or Fiverr. Start doing freelance work that you know you’re good at. Get some clients. Do great work. The freelance business you create in your free time can make you extra money in college and possibly help you out in the future.

It’s your senior year. Try something new!
