Healthy Alternatives

Spring Break is just around the corner and we are all starting to think about our beach bods (or lack of!). While image isn’t everything, we still want to have confidence and strut our stuff wherever it is we are going!

If you are like me and have a jam-packed schedule, it is hard to prepare quick and healthy meals. However, here are some tips to make some of the classic comfort foods a little bit more health conscious!

First up is the taco!

Now we all love them, but they sure aren’t the healthiest way to go! To make them a bit better for us, try using ground turkey instead of ground beef! You would be surprised on how little of a taste difference there is and you won’t regret switching!

Next is spaghetti!

Pasta is one of my favorite foods, but I know that eating too much can be bad for you. To switch it up, try using spaghetti squash!  Although the flavor and texture is different, it is still amazing! Plus, it is stringy like spaghetti so you can still twirl it on your fork!

Who doesn’t love mashed potatoes?!

This buttery and delicious side dish is something that cannot be passed up with certain meals! However there is a healthier alternative! Try adding mashed cauliflower to your dinners! You can barely notice the difference!

Last, bagel bites!

I don’t know about you, but I loved those things growing up! To switch out the bagel try using sliced zucchini and then top them with marinara and mozzarella!
