Every year, February 14th, most can agree it’s either going to be a joyous day filled with love and time spent with their significant other or it’s a day of watching couples in-love and spending it alone. So what is the common denominator between the two? Food of course! Whether you’re going to spend V-Day with the person/people you love or alone, these delicious recipes are guaranteed to make you fall head over heels in love with food.

Love Me S’More

What’s Valentine’s day without chocolate? This heartfelt twist on the classic s’more is almost as easy as binge watching rom-coms! The best part is now you can binge watch whatever you want with a delicious snack, so delicious in fact you may just ask it to be your valentine.

Ingredients needed: Heart shaped marshmallows (you can easily shape regular marshmallows into hearts as well), graham crackers, your pick of chocolate (chocolate bars will work best for this recipe), and sprinkles are optional.

Preheat the oven to broil. As the oven is preheating, line your baking tray with foil.

Break your graham crackers into squares and place it onto your baking. TIP: The graham cracker should be spaced an inch apart.

Break your chocolate bar into squares and place it on top of your graham cracker. Finally place your heart shaped marshmallow on top of the chocolate.

Place your tray into the oven for 60-90 seconds. Keep a close eye as you do not want to burn your marshmallow, it just needs to be nice and toasted!

Now that they’re done baking, add sprinkles to the s’mores before the chocolate sets and enjoy!

I Foundue You

I am not sure about you but I love a good fondue and the best thing about fondue is that it can be used for a chocolate fountain, a cheese fountain, or both! What gets better than that?

A cheesy love:

Ingredients: ⅓ pound of gruyere cheese, ⅓ pound of fontina, ⅓ pound of gouda, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, 1 cup of dry white wine, a clove of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of brandy, 1 teaspoon of dijon mustard, and ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg.

Additional (optional) ingredients for the dippers are: clean and stem removed mushrooms, your choice of bread, boiled baby potatoes (quartered), lightly steamed broccoli/cauliflower/asparagus, meatballs, and/or steak

Grate all the cheeses and combine all of them in a bowl with cornstarch.

In a stove-safe fondue pot or large saucepan bring the wine, garlic, and lemon juice to simmer over medium-low heat. Then add the cheeses little by little while stirring well.

Once the cheese mixture is smooth stir in the brandy, mustard, and nutmeg.

Make sure the food that you are using to dip in the fondue are cut into bite sizes.

Serve fondue with fondue forks or wooden skewers and enjoy!

Cupid’s edible love arrows

Ingredients: 10 oz of semisweet/bittersweet chocolate (chopped), ⅓ cup of milk, ⅓ cup of heavy cream, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract

Ingredients (optional): cut your choice of fruits into hearts such as strawberries, kiwis, melons, bananas, etc., you can also cut rice krispies, cookies, brownies, cookies, etc. into hearts as well. TIP: to make cupid’s arrows cut some into the shape of an arrow’s back end as well

Cut all your dessert items and fruits into hearts and assemble your cupid’s arrow by putting one of your heart-shaped foods at the tip of your skewer. Now place your choice of fruit/dessert that was cut into the shape of the back end of an arrow on the back of the same skewer.

Now that you have your Cupid arrows assembled we can start on the velvety chocolate fondue. In a saucepan or stove-safe fondue pot combine the chopped up chocolate, milk, and cream on low heat as you stir often until the mixture is all melted and smooth. TIP: Do not let the chocolate mixture come to a boil and keep it on low heat

Once melted stir in the vanilla extract. If the consistency of the mixture needs to be thinned out, stir in milk or heavy cream a tablespoon at a time.

Serve the dippers of your choice along with the chocolate fondue!

Make This V-Day Pop!

Popcorn with a sprinkle of love! This is the perfect snack for your Valentine’s day movie. Trust me you’ll be popping with love!

Ingredients: heart shaped sprinkles, 12 oz white chocolate, 8 cups of popped popcorn, ½ teaspoon of salt, and conversation heart candies (optional).

Heat your white chocolate in the microwave or use a double boiler method until it’s all melted.

Place the popcorn into a large bowl then pour the melted chocolate over it using a spoon to toss the popcorn until it’s all evenly coated with the chocolate.

Line a baking sheet then spread the popcorn out evenly. Sprinkle evenly with salt, sprinkles, and as many conversation hearts as you would like.

Let the popcorn cool for about 10 minutes until the chocolate is hardened then break it up into small pieces and serve with a movie!
