Seasonal Depression Woes

Fall is a time of year where the weather doesn’t know what it wants, and if you’re like me then you’ve just about had enough. The change from warm weather to cold weather and vice versa is not ideal on the body. Its effects aren’t just physical. Besides persistent colds and runny noses, there’s also the fatigue, lack of motivation, and sometimes deep sadness that can come from the weather.

Here are some things you can do to help combat the funk:

  1. You can go to counseling services and speak to a therapist. There is nothing wrong with seeking professional help.
  2. You can meditate and do yoga. Yoga has been proven to help distress and lift your mood.
  3. Drink more water. Yes, this one may have made you roll your eyes. But water is good at cleansing the blood and dehydration kills your energy.
  4. Take a walk. Fall has beautiful foliage to look at and some vitamin D wouldn’t hurt.
  5. Keep yourself occupied. Pick up a hobby that’s fun and you’ll be more likely to be in a better mood.
