With the new semester/school year returning in-person, here are a few of my fashion trends you can add to your back to school shopping!

  • The “old money” look has been a trend for quite a while. I’d like to think Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl is the one to thank for this beautiful tend. Here are a few tips to look like the Blair Waldorf you always wanted to be, but affordable of course!
    • Layered clothing: Such as a sweater vest layered on top of a white collared shirt will definitely help you achieve the look.
    • Pair this with a matching pleated skirt and you’ll look like a pretty wealthy trust fund baby.
    • Never forget to accessorize. Gold jewelry and rings make a statement, despite being so dainty so don’t underestimate them.
  • I ain’t no hollaback girl! Y2K is making a comeback! The well-known trends of the 2000s are back and better than ever.
    • Baby tees have always been popular and are always so easy to pair, and matched with the right pair of bottoms, it can look effortless yet so fashionable.
    • Pair the baby tee with a pair of baggy wide leg jeans for a comfy-casual look or a skirt for a cute look! Patterns are in so don’t be shy to wear them!
    • Speaking of skirts, pleated skirts are all the rage. May it be colorful, low rise, high rise, patterned or plain, it is all over. They are so easy to match with and the best part is these skirts can be found everywhere and for a low price!
    • It can be hard to have such an astounding outfit without the impressive hairdo to match. Butterfly clips can be found at all stores to spice up your outfit a little more (they also make great items to add when you need free shipping; we’ve all been there).
    • To accessorize add a small dainty shoulder bag and some sunnies and you’ll be rocking the 2000s all over again!
  • Funky oversized tops with matching bottoms are always an easy outfit that make it seem like you put a lot of thought and effort into your look.
    • Patterned shirts are always so cute!
    • Pair the patterned top with matching bottoms, baggy cargo jeans, or flared out jean for an effortless look.
    • Claw clips are always seen in use now. Keep your hair away from your face and look stylish at the same time? Seems awesome to me.
    • Beaded necklaces and resin rings always add a little personality and adds a pop of color to your outfit!

With three of some of the top trends of the year, you’ll be the stylish one in school! These simple outfits are found almost everywhere now, and with it being back-to-school, definitely keep an eye out on your favorite stores with discounts!
