What do you do on campus?

I am the President of the Caribbean Student Organization, CSO.

What does CSO do?

We bring Caribbean awareness and the Caribbean culture to campus.

Why did you decide to join CSO?

CSO wasn’t like any other organization; I felt more of a family vibe.

Is it tough being the President of an organization?

Yeah, every org has their stuff to deal with; they all come with their good times and their bad times. It’s stressful but then there’s warm, good-feeling vibes.

What’s it like having that Caribbean culture?

It’s fun. Everyone from a Caribbean background has that upbringing. It’s just the way we are; it’s embedded in us. The way we move, the way we talk and act. We’re full of fun; you’ll never meet a Caribbean person who’s boring.

How do you think Jamaican culture is different from other Caribbean cultures?

The Jamaican culture is different because we’re more full of energy. Not to say that any other culture doesn’t have energy, but we have the most. If you see us at a party, you know we’re here; you hear us among everyone else.

What are your aspirations in life?

My future goal is to open a Caribbean restaurant.

What are some of your interests?

My hobbies include music and dancing.
