Gabby Moreno: One Busy Gal!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Buff State chapter.

A quote Gabby lives by: “The true challenge is reality.” – Salvador Dali.

Gabby Moreno is one accomplished woman at the tender age of 23.  Frequently involved in Buffalo State’s Theater department, most recently in  Julius Caesar.  A cast member of Buffalo State’s own improv group, Friday Night Live, and involved in The Anne Frank Project,  an event to raise awareness on global Genocide, where she wrote, directed, and starred in a piece contributing to the event.  All this and Gabby still has the energy to work two jobs; one at our campus bookstore assisting students and the other as a children’s mentor at a local Elementary school.  This is why Gabby deserves the title of this week’s campus celebrity!

Gabby, an Arts and Letters major with a concentration in Theater and French language and a Minor in Anthropology (try saying that five times fast!) has proven herself a valuable asset here at Buffalo State.  She has taken the role as Head of audience services for our theater department, Casting Hall Productions while also coordinating Buffalo State’s student gallery, and played the role of Kat in the Spring dance concert, A Fantastic Voyage.  When asked about her major workload she replied, “Grateful for the opportunity to be able to do so much.”

When Gabby is not on campus running around, she is out volunteering in outreach programs around the Buffalo community, teaching children the importance of Theater Arts while also stepping in as a performer for children’s Halloween shows.  Gabby says, “It’s very rewarding because of its challenge with teaching children a new skill, but in the end it’s worth it to see them grow.”
Recently, Gabby was nominated for the SUNY Chancellors Award at Buffalo State and we could not be any prouder of her.  Which is why we are so happy to call such a dedicated and driven woman one of our own here at Buffalo State!
