On Monday September 19, model Summer Stroh came out on TikTok claiming she had an affair with Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine. In her TikTok Stroh said, “I was having an affair with a man who’s married to a Victoria’s Secret model…At the time, I was young, I was naive, and, I mean, quite frankly, I feel exploited.” Stroh then posted screenshots from her Instagram direct messages exposing Levine. After Stroh, multiple women came forward with similar accusations of Levine messaging them through Instagram DMs.

Levine eventually spoke on the matter in efforts to clear the air. In an Instagram story he said, “I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in any kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period in my life.” He continued on with “My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make.”

In response to his apologies, Stroh posted a black screen on her Instagram story that said “someone get this man a dictionary” in small white letters.

Many celebrities started coming forward to voice their opinions on the topic through social media. Actress Sara Foster posted in a TikTok saying, “Cheating is so gross. This woman who chose to make a viral TikTok video – putting it out there for the world to see for a pregnant woman to see when she could have just messaged her privately…We don’t feel sorry for you.”

Emily Ratajkowski then questioned Foster’s opinion on why the women are always criticized for something a man is responsible for. Specifically in this circumstance where an older man is in the position of power over someone half his age.

Levine’s wife, Behati Prinsloo, has not addressed the matter and has been spotted accompanied by Levine since the news broke earlier in the week.

Also in recent news, Ned Fulmer from Try Guys has been trending due to rumors circulating that he had been caught in an affair with a coworker. These rumors were later confirmed to be true by Ned and the group. The group then posted to Instagram that Fulmer is no longer working with the group.

Ariel Fulmerput out a statement on her Instagram story saying “Nothing is more important to me and Ned than our family, and all we request right now is that you respect our privacy for the sake of our kids.”

Social media has brought many benefits to our generation. However, it has forced celebrities’ lives to become even more public than they already are. Poor women like Prinsloo and Fulmer are forced to learn the truth about their significant others through TikTok videos and Instagram dms. It also makes it easier for other celebrities and average joes to criticize and judge their lives.
